Machining Technology Internship – Summer 2016

What You Will Learn:

  • How part designs across a number of industries go from design to manufacturing
  • What it takes to consistently produce high-precision parts to tight tolerances
  • How to create, modify and detail existing part designs in CAD modeling software
  • Consistent attention to detail
  • Gain exposure to a number of different machines, processes and techniques in high-precision, advanced manufacturing


  • At least one year completed in a qualifying MET or Machine Tool Technology program
  • Strong interest in applying that education in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated experience working with your hands
  • Experience using basic shop tools (e.g. micrometers) preferred
  • Experience using computers and exposure to CAD / CAM design software preferred
  • GPA of 2.5 or higher

Program Details

  • Intern Period: usually May 23 – August 19, 2016, but flexible
  • Hours: Full time (40+ hours/week); 8am-4pm but flexible
  • Pay: $12+/hr. competitive pay based on experiences and skills
