Optics/Photonics

Monsees’ experience in the optics and photonics industries is particularly strong, as a significant contributor to the regional photonics cluster in Rochester, New York. Our customers have depended on us to produce a wide variety of opto-mechanical components for their finished products. This includes basic and advanced custom designs for cells, retainers, apertures, barrels and tubes, prism holders and integrated assemblies. It also includes production of critical optical components and test equipment – objective housings, alignment guides and rails, camera and lens mounts, precision ground vees and stands – in complex advanced optical assemblies.

We are experts at machining typical opto-mechanical component materials, including Aluminum, Brass, 416SS, 410SS, 304SS, 316SS and INVAR 36. See our complete materials list…

Depending on the project and client needs, optics and photonics challenges are tackled by our Precision Components or Custom Machining teams:

custom-machining Advanced optics clients regularly require high precision assemblies and component sets for assembly, testing, polishing, coating and ongoing research and development.  Monsees Group’s Custom Machining team offers the expertise and flexibility required to move quickly from concept to finished product, identifying and correcting design oversights and producing a high-quality finished product.  Learn More…
precision-components Many optical applications have a short product life cycle, where new technology quickly replaces the old.  Monsees Group’s Precision Components team can cost-effectively transition precision components and assemblies through each step in the life-cycle, even at low lifetime product volumes, as a result of its tight integration between manufacturing engineering, programming, machining and finishing resources.  Learn more…
