MT Internship

What You Will Learn:

  • How part designs across a number of industries go from design to manufacturing.
  • What it takes to consistently produce high-precision parts to tight tolerances.
  • How to create, modify and detail existing part designs in CAD modeling software.
  • Consistent attention to detail
  • Gain exposure to a number of different machines, processes and techniques in high-precision, advanced manufacturing.

Requirements

  • At least one year completed in a qualifying MET or Machine Tool Technology program.
  • Strong interest in applying that education in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated experience working with your hands.
  • Experience using basic shop tools (e.g. micrometers) preferred.
  • Experience using computers and exposure to CAD / CAM design software preferred.
  • GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Program Details

  • Intern Period: usually May 23 – August 19, 2016, but flexible.
  • Hours: Full time (40+ hours/week); 8am-4pm but flexible.
  • Pay: $12+/hr. competitive pay based on experiences and skills.

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
